Program
With its 16 year history, the award-winning Young Chamber Musicians (YCM) program offers advanced chamber music instruction and exciting performance opportunities to string players and pianists ages 14-19.
Founded by Director Susan Bates, YCM fosters “learning through listening and performing” with an intense curriculum of coaching, masterclasses, student performances, and access to professional artists. Apply for the 24-25 season March 1-April 15, 2024!
Our Team
Our accomplished coaches and staff are dedicated to providing an environment that is challenging and nurturing. YCM coaches are each professional chamber music performers and talented teaching artists who guide young musicians to high level chamber music performances to prepare them for professional musical lives and music participation “for the love of it”.
Events
Each season, September to May, YCM offers over twenty free public events. We proudly present our talented young musicians in masterclasses led by professional artists from Music at Kohl Mansion, student performances at Kohl Mansion, and outreach performances throughout the Bay Area.
