Telegraph Quartet begins a three-year residency at the University of Michigan

It is with both joy and a touch of sadness that Young Chamber Musicians wishes all the best to our founding violin coach, Eric Chin of the Telegraph Quartet. Eric became part of our YCM family in 2010, joining Susan Bates at the program’s inception with only two ensembles and a dream for the future. Together they made the weekly journey down Highway 280, coaching chamber music in homes in Saratoga, Palo Alto, Hillsborough, and at Gunn High School and the Menlo School, and Eric’s leadership at YCM continued as in 2015 YCM found their current home at Kohl Mansion/Mercy High School.

Throughout the years, the Telegraph Quartet have been an important part of YCM, leading masterclasses and sharing their performances with our students. We will miss the Telegraph Quartet’s artistry and warm, friendly presence.

Thank you, Eric, for keeping YCM’s ensembles close to your heart and for sharing your remarkable musical insight and enthusiasm with us. We look forward to your promised visits whenever you return to the Bay Area, where you will always be welcomed with open arms.

Congratulations and best of luck to you, Joseph, Pei-Ling, and Jeremiah!
